'I have no doubts about him': Zinchenko backs Eddie Nketiah to replace injured Gabriel Jesus

Speaking to Sky Sports, Oleksandr Zinchenko said: "We are all behind Gabriel Jesus and supporting him, of course it's a big miss for our team,. The impact of what he's doing for the club is amazing. I've known him for a while.

"He's a big warrior and I'm 100 per cent sure he will be much, much stronger. But since I came here, Eddie Nketiah has been amazing. Honestly, even watching him last season, I was surprised a lot. The ability and quality he has is incredible.

"He has an amazing potential and future for sure. The way he works so hard, I have no doubts about him. He's going to help the team and he understands the pressure. He should realise how important he will be for the rest of the season."

Jesus could be sidelined for up to three months after undergoing surgery to fix a knee injury he picked up away on international duty with Brazil at the World Cup.

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal will sign a striker in January and the task of replacing the Brazilian as the first-choice no.9 could fall to 23-year-old Nketiah.
