Gary Neville believes Cristiano Ronaldo 'over-achieved' at World Cup

Discussing Portugal's exit from the World Cup on Sky Sports, Gary Neville explained: "I wouldn't class it as an underachievement from Cristiano [Ronaldo], it's an overachievement for him to be doing what he's doing at 37 years of age.

"It's just the way it ended with him being out of the team, and how disappointing and poor Portugal were as a group chasing the game against Morocco."

Ronaldo was on the bench for most of the games and even when he did play, he failed to impress. He scored just once throughout the tournament.

The constant harassment by his family members towards the coach didn't do him any favours either.

A free agent after leaving Manchester United, Ronaldo is yet to find a new club.
