fans react to Konate's insane performance against Morocco

France have beaten Morocco 2-0 in the World Cup semi-final. Les Bleus will face Argentina in the final on December 18.

Ibou Konate started the game after Dayot Upamecano picked up an injury earlier this week.

The Liverpool defender put in a Rolls-Royce display, stopping many Morocco attacks. He recorded three ball recoveries, five interceptions, two blocks and won all his aerial duels.

Here's what football fans on Twitter are saying about Ibou's performance.

Resilencia: "If Upamecano was fit France are 4-1 down. Konate pain"

Jay: "Konate bailing out France, is it? I love to see it!"

Wilco: "Mental how Liverpool now has the 2 best Centre Backs in the Premier League with Van Dijk and Konaté"

Laurie: "Konate is in the right place every single time. His positioning is next level"

Mari Lewis: "Konaté has made a massive difference for France. This defense is a different animal than the version that played England."

Dubois: "They wanted Salibass to start over this monster"

Jxonline: "VVD’s comparison for the best defender in the world is his team mate Konate. What a life man."

Jacque Hass: "All I'm saying is if Upamecano was on the field instead of Konate this game would have finished with French tears"

Raj Chohan: "Morocco vs Ibrahima Konaté. Man is a brick wall."

FSG Out: "It really should be Varane and Upamecano competing for who starts next to Konate. He’s clear of both of them"

CPHamill: "Konate is insane. He started one league game coming into this tournament - and has looked like France's best defender whenever he's been called upon. Huge, huge future."

PaddyPower: "Fair play to Konate for the interception there, Upamecano would have just two footed the lad and kind of hope that he got the ball at some stage."

Keifer McDonald: "No matter how many times I watch Ibrahima Konate, I’ll never not be blown away at how complete his skill set is for 23 years of age.

"He has every attribute a manager would desire from an elite-level centre half. I’d struggle to name a weakness in his game"
