Chelsea Fans Beg Former First Team Doctor Eva Carneiro To Return Amid Injury Crisis

Eva Carneiro, the former Chelsea first-team doctor, has strongly hinted at making a return to the club on social media.

Carneiro was a beloved figure, especially among the Blues faithful, for her passion in treating the players and dedication to her work.

At the moment, Chelsea is battling an injury crisis as a number of superstars are in the treatment room with varying injuries.

The latest to suffer an injury setback was Reece James, who only lasted 50 minutes against Bournemouth before suffering a strain to the same knee that kept him out of the World Cup.

Ben Chilwell, N’Golo Kante, Ruben Loftus Cheek, Armando Broja and Wesley Fofana are also facing uphill tasks of coming back from injury.

Amid the crisis, one fan decided to take is chances on social media by boldly asking Carneiro to make a comeback and perhaps amend the situation.

The fan posted a photo of the medical professional during her Chelsea days with the caption 'One last dance?'.

In a great show of respect, Carneiro afforded a reply as she replied with 'Venga!' - which can be translated as 'Come on' or 'Let’s go'.

As expected, other fans who saw her reply jumped onto the tweet as they coerced her to return to the Blues.

Carneiro's time with the Blues

After arriving at Stamford Bridge in 2009, Carneiro made her name for herself as one of the top medics in the Premier League.

However, her time at Stamford Bridge ended on a sour note, after a public and sensational fallout with the then-Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho publicly criticised her in 2015 after she went against the gaffer’s wishes, making her way onto the pitch to treat Eden Hazard during his side's 2-2 draw with Swansea City on the season's opening day, which temporarily left Chelsea with nine men.

According to The Sun, Carneiro is presently an investor in non-league side Lewes FC.
