Brazil Approach Mourinho As Tite’s Replacement After World Cup Shamble

Brazil have reportedly opened talks with Jose Mourinho to become their next head coach following Tite's exit.

Tite resigned after Brazil fell to a shock quarter-final exit at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar at the hands of Croatia. Brazil's star-studded squad had been expected to go all the way and lift a record sixth crown.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti was the first option but he snubbed that role to remain in Europe leaving Brazil's chiefs to look elsewhere.

Daily Mail reports that Brazil FA President Ednaldo Rodrigues has opened talks with Mourinho's representative Jorge Mendes to inquire about the availability of the AS Roma boss.

When he was at Manchester United, the veteran manager admitted that managing Brazil would be exciting.

"I think following Manchester United I need an easier job than Manchester United, and coaching the Brazilian team should be more difficult.

'Obviously, it would be exciting, any coach wants to work with the best clubs and with the best. The Brazilian team is obviously a leader of success, obviously with talent, no matter what the generation, talent always appears."
