3 Times Pele Played At Camp Nou In His Lifetime

Pele never played in Europe at the club level but that doesn't mean that he never travelled across the Atlantic for friendly matches.

Since the level of the Brazilian league was incredibly high at the time, European clubs would often invite them for friendlies, and Barcelona was no exception. Thus, the King got to play at Camp Nou three times during his time at Santos.

1. Barca 1-5 Santos

Pele's first game at Camp Nou was in 1959, and he was already a world champion at that time. The forward scored twice in that game.

2. Barca 4-3 Santos

On Pele's return in 1960, he scored another goal. However, it was not enough to overcome the solid team performance from the Catalans led by Luis Suarez Miramontes and Lazlo Kubala.

3. Barca 2-0 Santos

Pele's third and final game at Camp Nou was in 1963. At that time, he was already considered the best footballer to have ever existed. However, he could not contribute with much in that exact game.

And here are some pictures of Pele at Camp Nou, including the poster announcing the friendly against Santos in 1963.
