Mount rejected £200,000-a-week contract before World Cup, his demands revealed
According to the Daily Mail, Mason Mount rejected a £200,000-a-week contract offer from Chelsea before flying out to the World Cup in Qatar.
Chelsea agreed to put the negotiations on hold for the duration of the tournament.
At the same time, they don't expect a swift resolution of the matter afterwards as there is a significant gap between the positions of the club and the player.
It's claimed that Mount wants parity with Raheem Sterling who earns £300,000 a week since moving from Man City.
That's why Mount has not been tied up to a new deal as quickly as Reece James who signed a six-year deal worth £250,000 a week in September.
