'I regret not having enjoyed him more': Messi names best coach in his career

"Guardiola is the best coach, I have no doubt. He is special," Lionel Messi said in an interview with ex-Madrid head coach Jorge Valdano.

"With Guardiola we made things so easy, and it was so natural that we didn't realise what we were doing. As time goes by, you realise it was unique what we achieved."

"Guardiola prepared the games like nobody else. He knew everything."

"I regret not having enjoyed the Guardiola era more, not having enjoyed it more with him."

Guardiola was in charge of Barcelona between 2008 and 2012. He oversaw an extremely successful period of the club's history, winning three La Liga, two Champions League and two Spanish Cup titles.
