Gareth Southgate told to drop Chelsea and Man Utd stars for Arsenal players
"As much as I love Raheem [Sterling], he’s not in form," Joe Cole said on William Hill's Stripped podcast.
"Bukayo Saka’s playing for the team at the top of the Premier League.
"It will evolve as the tournament goes on. Five substitutions as well – it’s a game of 16 players effectively so most players will get a chance.
"I would go with [Jordan] Pickford in goal, centre halves I’ll go [John] Stones and [Ben] White in the group stage."
Harry Maguire is a favourite to start most games for England in the World Cup, despite his poor form for Man United over the past year.
In contrast, White has excelled for Arsenal in our ascent to the top of the Premier League table. As for Saka, he's one of the best young attackers in England right now and it'd be a crime to not play him.
