Facundo Torres' agent confirms imminent talks with Arsenal over a potential move
Facundo Torres' agent has reportedly confirmed that he will have talks with Arsenal over a potential transfer.
The Gunners have shown an interest in Uruguayan after the 22-year-old impressed in the 2022 MLS season for Orlando City.
Torres scored nine goals and added a further 10 assists in his debut year for the club after joining on a four-year deal from Penarol in January for a fee of around £7.75million.
It has been reported previously that were set to hold talks, which has now been confirmed by his agent Edgardo Lasalvia, according to ESPN.
The report suggests that Lasalvia will have a meeting in the coming days with Arsenal scout Toni Lima to discuss the possibility of a potential move to the Emirates Stadium.
Lasalvia did however reveal that there are still no advanced talks from Arsenal for Torres, but that interest exists.
Scout Lima, who was appointed in 2021, is believed to have identified the winger as Arsenal are keen to add more depth to their current squad as they bid to build on a solid start to the season.
Lima specialises in South American talent and is credited with being one of the first to notice Neymar and Philippe Coutinho during their playing days in Brazil.
Mikel Arteta's side currently sit top of the Premier League after the opening 12 matches of the campaign, having lost just once to Manchester United.
The Spaniard is keen to add further depth to his squad to remain among the front-runners in the top-flight, especially given the recent injury to Bukayo Saka.
The north London are keen to add more wide players to their ranks, with Reiss Nelson coming on for Saka in the Gunners 5-0 victory over Nottingham Forest on Sunday when the England man went off injured.
Nelson scored twice in the game, but it was his first appearance of the season and it is unclear whether he is in Arteta's long-term plans.
