Cristiano Ronaldo's mum finally reacts to Man United star's controversial Piers Morgan interview

Cristiano Ronaldo's mother, Dolores Aveiro, has reacted to the Manchester United striker's recent TV interview with Piers Morgan and offered her support to her son.

The Portuguese international has faced intense backlash after slamming his manager Erik ten Hag, the club's owners and a number of his former Reds teammates. The 37-year-old is unlikely to return to Old Trafford after the World Cup in Qatar, with United currently considering terminating Ronaldo's contract following his explosive interview with Morgan.

While Ronaldo has been heavily criticised for his comments about the Reds, he has been supported by a few people. Now, his mother has had her say on her son's criticism of Ten Hag, the Glazers and several of his ex-teammates.

Posting on her Instagram story to her 2.9million followers, Dolores shared a post by Portuguese journalist and writer Luis Osorio. She appeared to show her support for the post, which said Ronaldo should tell the United manager to 'f*** off'.

Osorio's Instagram post backed Ronaldo's decision to speak out against his club, with his caption reading: "As far as the Dutchman who has managed you in these last few months goes, I just want to laugh.

"How can you compare what you are to a miserable footnote in football history!

"As Alberto Joao Jardim says, tell him to 'f*** off'. I know you already have but it's worth reiterating."

Ronaldo's sister Katia also shared the scathing post, adding: "It's worth reading this and sharing."

Dolores has been heavily involved in her son's career for several years, following the frontman around the globe as he starred for teams in England, Spain, and Italy.
