Chelsea make first contact with Portugal first choice keeper

Chelsea have made their first approach to sign Portugal's first-choice goalie Diogo Costa, per Matte Moretto.

Costa is currently representing Portugal at the World Cup where he would be hoping to enjoy success on the biggest stage of football.

The 23-year-old has kept nine clean sheets in his last 16 games for Porto this season. Last season he recorded 17 clean sheets in 43 games.

The Portuguese shot-stopper could cost Chelsea up to €53m if Todd Boehly decides to follow through on the transfer.

Manchester United are another team said to be strongly interested in the Porto Academy graduate.
