The club is still waiting for the results of the scan - and so probably does Gareth Southgate who has to name his final England squad for the World Cup next Thursday.

Most of all, it's a huge blow for the player himself who missed most of the last season with an ACL injury.

If the worst fears are confirmed, Chilwell won't only be out for the World Cup but also for a chunk of the season afterwards.
