Barcelona 'make surprise decision' on Jordi Alba future
Barcelona will offer Jordi Alba a contract termination in January, reports Mundo Deportivo's Roger Torello.
If the player doesn't accept that, the club will try to re-negotiate his current deal and lower the salary. However, parting ways with the veteran is the priority.
Alba is Barca's 3rd highest-paid player after Frenkie de Jong and Sergio Busquets, according to Capology. His current role on the team doesn't really reflect this.
The 33-year-old's contract only expires in July 2024. The player has made it clear that he would love to stay at Barca for as long as possible.
