4 Barca senior players who will not feature at the World Cup
The World Cup is now upon us with players expected to report for international duty in the coming week ahead of the Mundial.
Barcelona could have as many as 10 players representing them in Qatar, but the following players will sit back and watch.
Sergi Roberto, Hector Bellerin, Marcos Alonso. These Spaniards are either not good enough or fit enough for Spain’s 55-man preliminary list.
Alejandro Balde, Inaki Pena. The former has been in sensational form this season but had little time to impress Luis Enrique while the latter has to focus on learning from Ter Stegen.
Gerard Pique. The 35-year-old is in Luis Enrique’s squad but he has retired.
Franck Kessie. Unfortunately, Ivory Coast did not qualify for the World Cup so Kessie sits this one out.
