'Sell Neymar' and 3 more promises PSG made and broke with Mbappe
Kylian Mbappe was promised heaven and earth before deciding to sign a three-year contract extension with PSG in July.
However, most of those promises have been broken leading to the player pushing for an exit three months after his much-talked-about new deal.
Here are some of those promises broken by PSG, per Carlos Capio.
1. Leader of the sporting project. The Parisians promised Mbappe that he will have a say on who the club signs and who they sell. That hasn't happened so far.
2. Sell Neymar. PSG agreed to offload the Brazilian if Mbappe renews as the Frenchman didn't like his indiscipline and ego. But one month after Mbappe signed his contract Neymar activated a clause in his contract to extend his contract at PSG till 2027.
3. Free role. Mbappe's position on the pitch has always been a hot topic at PSG. The promise was that he would be allowed to play a free role and not a traditional number 9. He only gets to enjoy that when playing for France.
4. Sign Zidane. One more promise to Mbappe was that Zinedine Zidane would be hired as PSG coach, per GFFN. They picked Christophe Galtier instead.
