Revealed: How much Barcelona lost by early Champions League exit

Barcelona lost out on €10m for failing to reach the Champions League knockout stage. That is the money allocated by UEFA for all 16 teams who reach the knockout stage of the UCL.

The Blaugrana assumed they would reach the Champions League quarter-finals and get at least €20m from the competition this season.

Barca will now hope to get a favourable draw in the Europa League when it takes place next month.

The Blaugrana were knocked out of the Champions League after Inter Milan beat Plzen 4-0 on Wednesday. Salt was added to their injury when Barca suffered a 3-0 defeat to Bayern at Camp Nou.
