Potter reveals Thiago Silva played against Milan despite a "heavy cold," and provides fitness updates on six more players.
Graham Potter put out a very rotated squad against Wolves, with only four players who started against Milan keeping their places.
After the game, the manager explained the thinking process behind rotation: it was dictated by the fact that many players are not fit to play 90 minutes.
"Thiago Silva has had a heavy cold, played Milan but obviously two days for recovery is really short for him, so we didn't really wanna take the chance there," Graham Potter said after the Wolves game.
"Ben Chilwell, three games in a week, recovering from an ACL injury... That's not the smartest thing to do to put him out, especially when we've got Marc Cucurella.
"Reece James had a dead leg that wasn't fully recovered yesterday so we had to give him extra time.
"Obviously we missed Wesley [Fofana]. Mateo Kovacic, again three games in a week. He's been nursing a knee problem so we can use Jorgi and Ruben.
"Raheem [Sterling] just had a lot of football. His load is massive. We thought it would be good for him to have a breather and maybe help us in the end of the game.
"Pretty much the same with Auba. It's tricky because forwards rely on rhythm. He hasn't had much football previous to moving here and also his injury, we felt he needed a breather."
