Neymar claims his Vinicius should've finished higher in Ballon d'Or rankings

Neymar has shared his view on the Ballon d'Or standings for this year after Karim Benzema picked up the top award, while his Brazil teammate Vinicius was ranked 8th.

"Benzema deserved it, crack!!!! Now, that Vini is the eighth is not possible.... At least in the top three," tweeted Neymar.

The pair will go into the World Cup hoping to be in top form as the ludicrous attacking talent at Brazil's disposal makes them the usual favourites.

Vinicius' coach Carlo Ancelotti saw merit to the player not being ranked higher and said: "I think it is fair, because this allows him to try to improve on what he did last year, in which it was almost all new for everyone to see him with that continuity and quality. It will motivate him to do better."
