'Natural movement of arms': ex-Liverpool player insists Gabriel handball not penalty

Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes touched the ball with his hand in the box in the first half of the Liverpool game on Sunday.

The referee decided against awarding a penalty despite the ball clearly hitting the Brazilian's arm.

It was one of the most controversial episodes of the game. Who knows how the game would have unfolded had the penalty been given.

Many fans and pundits think it was an obvious penalty, but not former Liverpool player Stephen Warnock.

"I've heard a lot of people say they think it's a penalty but for me, I actually don't think it is," he said on Sky Sports.

"I don't see it as a penalty at all because of the natural body position and natural movement of the arms."
