Man United release statement after Greenwood is charged with rape
"Manchester United notes that criminal charges have been brought against Mason Greenwood by the Crown Prosecution Service," read an official club statement.
"He remains suspended by the club, pending the outcome of the judicial process."
Greenwood will be produced in court for the first time on October 17 after being charged on counts of rape, assault and controlling behaviour with bodily harm.
His former partner released damning evidence in January, which led to his arrest at the time.
The 21-year-old remains in police custody after being arrested by police for violating the terms of his bail.
