'It takes a bit of time': Shaw asks Man United fans to be patient with Ten Hag

When asked if feels encouraged by the start Manchester United have made under Erik Ten Hag, Luke Shaw replied: “Of course. There have been very good signs, clear signs, of what this manager wants.

“He wants intensity, he wants aggression, he wants us to play high, press high and, of course, when we have the ball to play football.

“There’s a lot of movement, a lot of playing in between the lines, and I think, of course, we are in a transition. It takes a bit of time, but there are very positive signs at the moment and we, as players, can see that in day-to-day training with him.

“The meetings we have are very positive; it is the start of something new, so things like this take time.”

Shaw has managed to force his way into Ten Hag's plans this term. Tyrell Malacia was initially preferred to the Englishman but Shaw started successive Premier League games this season against Everton and Newcastle United.

He could keep his place on Wednesday when the fifth-placed Red Devils face Tottenham.
