'I was lucky': Pablo Mari breaks silence on being stabbed

Pablo Mari was stabbed in a shocking supermarket incident in Milan on Thursday, for which he will needs surgery.

The Arsenal defender, who is currently on loan at Serie A side Monza, believes he was 'lucky' to still be alive.

"Today I had luck because I saw a person die in front of me," told Mari to Italian media.

"I was with the trolley with my child inside and I felt an excruciating pain in my back. Then that man stabbed another in the throat."

Mari will have to undergo surgery to correct the injury on his back and it's unclear how long he will be out for.
