'I don't understand anything when Klopp speaks': Darwin shares his struggle with language barrier

Darwin shares his struggle with language barrier

Darwin Nunez has shared that he's having trouble understanding Jurgen Klopp and has to ask his teammates to translate everything he speaks.

"The truth is that when he speaks I do not understand anything," Darwin told ESPN Vivo

He then clarified: "Afterwards I ask my teammates what he says. But I think he is very clear about his game, he asks us to do simple things, not to be afraid to play, to be confident. And then when it's time to lose the ball, he wants us to press. That's what he always asks".

Darwin also revealed that sometimes he struggles with the adaptation required after arriving at Liverpool: "Sometimes I feel a little hesitant, I don't feel completely confident, but as training sessions and matches go by (it will increase).

"The coach himself always gives me confidence, like Pepe and Victor, the Portuguese who always translate for me, and then I have my teammates who talk to me and tell me to be calm.

"When they talk to me, I feel calmer because I know that if I do something wrong, they will always back me up".

In pre-season Thiago was spotted being the interpreter for Darwin as Klopp gave him instructions during training.
