Fernandes: We will deal with Ronaldo 'issue' inside, no one else will know
Bruno Fernandes says that his teammates are dealing with the current controversy surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo "inside". Speaking after the 1-1 draw with Chelsea, he said "We don't talk about that. We keep it inside.
We have to deal with that inside and no one else has to know what we want or think. The most important thing for everyone including Cristiano is that the team wins."
On Chelsea's penalty, he added "I said to the referee that in the Premier League this kind of contact is every game. I didn't see it, I can't say if it was right or not. Scott [McTominay] said he was not holding him. I don't know."
Ronaldo was banished to train alone after refusing to play a part in the victory over Tottenham. The 37-year-old subsequently walked away from the stadium.
He wasn't named in the squad to face Chelsea but could return for the Europa League clash with Sheriff.
