Fans question Nico as youngster dropped from matchday squad at Valencia

This summer, Xavi wanted to keep Nico at Barcelona but the midfielder opted for a loan as he wanted to get regular game time. However, things haven't been going according to plan at Valencia, and the midfielder was even dropped from the squad for the latest game against Osasuna.

Here's what the fans on Twitter have had to say.

Blayasensat: "Gattuso's Valencia is very well-defined and, at the moment, there is no place for Nico in the starting XI. We'll see if the doesn't end up regretting his decision because he is not counted on, and when he plays, he's a central midfielder and not a pivot."

7Marquezg: "If Nico won't get regular playing time at Valencia, I think it's best that we cut the loan short so that he returns to Barca. With our injuries, he could have enough playing time. Instead of playing here and there at Valencia, it's better that he does it at Barca. That's what I think. I'd bring him back."

SonietaBep: "Nico made a bad decision to go to Valencia."

pasetocado: "One day we'll talk about Nico. Many wanted to put him on this great team of Xavi but he, unfortunately, doesn't even play for Gattuso's Valencia."

warmcriminal: "So Nico doesn’t even play for Valencia but I was told he would get «experience» there so he can match the great Kessie (worst midfielder I’ve ever seen in Barca btw). This fanbase will justify everything, was so obvious this Kessie-Nico thing was a disaster."

This term so far, Nico has played just 231 minutes across seven games for Valencia, starting just twice. He has scored one goal.
