'Difficult to say': Ten Hag gives injury update on Varane & 3 more United players before Everton clash

Ten Hag gives injury update on Varane & 3 more United players before Everton clash

When asked if Raphael Varane will be fit to play against Everton, Erik ten Hag said: “Difficult to say.

“Varane made progress and I hope he is available but I think it will be close. From the other players, Harry Maguire not (fit), then it's Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Donny van de Beek, both not.

“He (Donny) had a muscle injury. So it takes a couple of weeks. He's now back on the training grass, so he's outside doing his work but still individual, he's not returning to team training. So we have to wait for that moment.”

Varane picked up an injury in the loss to Man City, but was seen travelling to the Carrington training centre the day after – indicating that his injury might not be a bad one.

If Varane doesn’t make it, Man United will probably only have Victor Lindelof and Lisandro Martinez available as centre-backs for the Everton game – limiting the number of options available for Ten Hag.
