Chelsea have 'very real chance' to sign Declan Rice in 2023
West Ham captain Declan Rice has been linked with his boyhood club Chelsea for ages, since the time Frank Lampard was in charge.
The Hammers have so far succeeded in keeping Rice at the club by driving the asking price high.
However, Rice's contract with West Ham is expiring in 2024, and he has rejected multiple extension offers.
So, according to CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs, 'there's a very real chance' Chelsea will succeed in getting the 23-year-old a year before West Ham could lose him for free.
The Blues will aim to bolster their midfield and, with the uncertainty around the future of Jorginho and N'Golo Kante, Rice is one of their priority options along with Borussia Dortmund starlet Jude Bellingham.
