Chelsea and Leipzig to agree Nkunku deal before World Cup, Gvardiol likely to follow

According to German media outlet SportBILD, Chelsea and RB Leipzig are expected to reach a full agreement over the transfer of Christopher Nkunku before the World Cup starts in November.

The French forward is set to sign a five-year deal with the Blues after undergoing a medical for the Premier League club.

Earlier reports suggested that Nkunku would remain at Leipzig until the end of the 2022/23 season. Chelsea would pay slightly above the €60m release clause that would kick in next summer.

SportBILD also reports that centre-back Josko Gvardiol is likely to follow Nkunku to Stamford Bridge. It's not specified when that could happen, though.
