Barcelona's board passes 'verdict' on Xavi after El Clasico defeat

The Barcelona board's verdict on Xavi is that he remains the man for the job regardless of the defeat to Real Madrid, close sources have told Sport.

October has not been kind to Barcelona, with just two wins and as many defeats. They also played a draw in their must-win game against Inter Milan.

Barcelona have surrendered their lead at the top of La Liga and are in serious danger of being eliminated from the Champions League group stage.

Barca president Joan Laporta has come out to defend Xavi. However, it is clear that things cannot continue the way they are right now.
