Barca want to sign defensive midfielder in January, four options named

Diario Sport report that Barcelona are interested in signing a holding midfielder in the winter transfer window.

The Catalans are exploring four options: Edson Alvarez, a 25-year-old Mexican who plays for Ajax, Martin Zubimendi, a 23-year-old Real Sociedad midfielder, Wolves' Ruben Neves and Benfica's Enzo Fernandez.

If the report is true, it might mean that Xavi does not see Frenkie de Jong and Franck Kessie as players good enough to play in a holding role for Barcelona.
