Barca could replace De Jong with one Premier League free agent next summer

Barcelona will again be open to selling Frenkie de Jong next summer if a good offer arrives, Diario Sport's Lluis Miguelsanz claims.

In case the Dutchman finally agrees to a departure, Barca have identified Youri Tielemans as a replacement.

The Belgian has been on the club's radar for a long time and next summer he is set to become a free agent. Tielemans shares his key attributes with De Jong: he is a physical midfielder that can cover a lot of ground while also being good on the ball.

Last season, Youri recorded 7 goals and 5 assists in 50 matches for Leicester City.

Such a replacement would make sense for two reasons. First, Barca would earn a significant amount of money from De Jong's sale. And second, Tielemans' salary would likely be lower than Frenkie's current one.
