Balde first in line to get contract extension, talks at advanced stage

Mateu Alemany is reportedly busy working on contract extensions with players whose deals expire in the near future.

A lot of progress is being made with Alejandro Balde's case. The Barcelona left-back has convinced the club officials he is a good fit for the position for the next decade and the extension until 2027 is well on track, Mundo Deportivo reports.

According to the Spanish outlet, the talks are at an advanced stage and the new deal will be signed between December and January.

Despite his age, Balde is already a starter at Barca. Xavi rates him above the experienced Jordi Alba and Marcos Alonso.

So far, he has contributed with 3 assists in 11 appearances for the club.
