'After the World Cup, it will be even worse': Arteta on Arsenal's hectic fixture schedule
"I think it is already here," said Mikel Arteta when asked how he plans to prepare Arsenal for the hectic fixture schedule ahead.
"But I think after the World Cup it is going to be even worse, so I think it is good preparation for what is coming.
"Now, the trick is how are we going to prepare for Leeds United, mentally and physically.
"It’s going to be a battle – we know the way they play and how intense it is going to be and the crowd that they have, so it’s going to be a challenge. We have to be at our best again to win there."
As a result of Premier League games not airing during the national mourning period for the late Queen Elizabeth II, the Gunners have games coming in thick and fast.
Arteta is right - the World Cup will lead to more congestion and it will be a massive challenge for Arsenal to maintain the momentum.
