Xavi explains why Kessie hasn't been playing much this season

In the press conference ahead of the Viktoria Plzen clash, Xavi was asked to comment on Franck Kessie's limited involvement at Barcelona so far.

"Franck has unique qualities, he needs some time to adapt but he will be crucial in some games. He will play and he will be important," the coach said.

Xavi is expected to rotate the squad in the Champions League opener, and Kessie could be given more minutes this game (or even his first Barca start).

So far this term, the 25-year-old has played 37 minutes across three games for the Catalans.
