'They examined parts of my body I can't talk about': Fofana opens up on weird Chelsea medical in New York

"I thought I was going to do it in London and then I found out that it would be carried out in New York City! It was an express visit, but I spent a long time at the clinic," Wesley Fofana told GFFN.

"It was the [LA] Lakers doctor who supervised all the tests, he looked at everything. They examined my ankle; everything was analysed, even parts of the body that I can’t talk about in order to see how I had recovered from my injury.

"It lasted over 10 hours! It’s normal given the amount of money spent on me. Todd [Boehly] and Behdad [Eghbali] were great.

"They welcomed me in London and in New York like a member of their own family."

Some fans and pundits raised an eyebrow when Chelsea flew Fofana to New York for his medicals instead of London.

We take it Chelsea were only being careful after spending over £70m on the Frenchman.

And let's not forget he missed most part of last season with a broken foot.
