Reece James set to become highest-paid defender in Chelsea's history, contract agreed

Reece James is about to become one of the highest-paid defenders in Chelsea's history after agreeing to a new long-term contract, per the Athletic.

The right-back was one of the lowest-paid players at the club before the new deal, with a salary of £58,000 per week, as per Capology.

However, the new deal may see the 22-year-old earn up to £250,000 every week.

James started his career at Chelsea at the age of six and has gone on to become one of the best right-backs in world football. It's why teams like Real Madrid and Man City are eyeing his signature.

The Englishman's current contract expires in 2025, but the new deal will likekly see him tied to the club until 2028!
