Paul Pogba's brother Mathias arrested for alleged plot to kidnap and extort £11.2m from midfielder
In a surprising turn of events, Mathias Pogba has been arrested by Paris police for his role in an alleged plot to kidnap his brother Paul Pogba and extort £11.2 million from him.
This is according to multiple reports, with Mathias detained for questioning by the authorities after months of blackmailing the former Manchester United player.
Three other men have been arrested and they are believed to be friends from his old neighbourhood in France.
The midfielder, who joined Juventus for free in the summer, filed a criminal lawsuit in August. He named his own brother Mathias - who has publicly criticised United in the past - and the three other men as perpetrators.
As per Paul's statement, Mathias blackmailed him during his final months in Manchester and has refused to let up even after he joined Juventus.
Investigation into the case is ongoing but it appears Mathias has denied all such claims.
