Mason Greenwood included in Man United's Premier League squad - reason revealed
Man United have made a surprising decision to include Mason Greenwood in their 2022/23 Premier League squad under the U21s players section.
He is among a host of young players in the U21s section, with the youngsters added there so as not to take up a spot in the 25-man senior squad.
While this decision has earned a lot of speculation from fans, it has been confirmed that this has been done because he’s still an employee for the club.
The likes of Amad Diallo and Alvaro Fernandez, who have been loaned out, have also been included in the U21s section.
Journalist Chris Winterburn clarified things and tweeted: “Mason Greenwood included in the documentation because he’s still technically a footballing employee of Manchester United. Under 21 and English so doesn’t need to be registered so not included on the squad list per se.”
Greenwood remains suspended from taking part in any football activities at United as an investigation continues over domestic abuse and sexual abuse from his ex-girlfriend.
