Man United squad 'hit by food poisoning' after Sheriff win - multiple players affected
Man United’s players and staff were hit by multiple cases of food poisoning after returning from their 2-0 win over FC Sheriff in the Europa League, as per The Sun.
A number of members of the travelling party began to feel sick, and as many as 12 people were affected by it.
United are still investigating whether the food poisoning was picked up by something the squad had in Chisinau or on the plane back to Manchester.
As a result of the food poisoning cases, a number of players were missing from United’s training sessions on Friday and Sunday.
However, those players affected by the food poisoning who were also called up for international duty have been able to join with their nations.
Fortunately for the Red Devils, their Premier League match against Leeds United at the weekend was postponed.
If it had gone on as scheduled, Erik ten Hag could’ve missed some players due to the food poisoning cases.
