Man United eyeing Jordan Pickford as De Gea's potential long-term replacement
Man United are now questioning whether or not to extend David de Gea’s contract, as per The Telegraph.
The Spaniard’s current deal expires in 2023, but the Red Devils have the option to trigger an extension to 2024.
United are assessing their long-term plans and they could decide to replace De Gea with Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
The England international is one of the options in their list to permanently replace the 31-year-old in goal.
United are not sure about whether to give him another long-term deal to De Gea, who is among their highest earners with weekly wages of over £350,000.
They’ll now have to make a tough decision on whether to let the experience goalkeeper leave or keep him as their no.1 for many years to come.
The Spaniard has started all eight games for Erik ten Hag’s side this season, keeping three clean sheets.
