Man United agreed personal terms with Cody Gakpo before signing Antony

Manchester United agreed personal terms with Cody Gakpo and the player even said 'yes' to the transfer last summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

However, the Dutch winger was a backup option to Antony and the Red Devils pulled out of the deal after signing the Ajax forward at the end of August.

Man United are 'more than happy' with the outcome after identifying the Brazilian as their priority attacking target at the start of the summer transfer window.

It is still possible that the Red Devils will return for the PSV Eindhoven star in the future due to the fact that the 23-year-old shares an agent with Erik ten Hag.
