Liverpool murals defaced by Everton fans already being restored: 5 pictures

Before the Merseyside derby last weekend, a number of murals near Anfield were defaced with offensive and racist graffiti—supposedly by Everton fans.

Both Liverpool and Everton have condemned the defacing of the murals, saying they will support a police investigation into the matter.

Artists have already begun restoring the damaged murals, Liverpool fan Courtney Neary wrote on Twitter.

"Murals being restored by MurWalls," Neary tweeted.

"All graffiti from yesterday has been removed from them. Great to see the team work so fast to remove it and help out the other artists.

"Hendo is fully restored where as some of the others will be fixed fully once artists are able to. Amazing from MurWalls to work so quickly to remove the hateful remarks on them."
