Klopp Blasts Everton Fan After Avoiding Thrown Bottle: Some Idiot!

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp hit out at the Everton fan who threw a bottle in his direction during yesterday's 0-0 draw at Goodison Park.

It came after Conor Coady scored, though the goal was ruled out for offside moments later in the Merseyside derby which ended up 0-0. At Goodison Park, there was a typically boisterous atmosphere but one supporter decided to take it too far.

After the missile was thrown at the Liverpool manager, play was temporarily halted and Klopp has now explained what happened.

“I think it hit, I'm not sure, the fourth official," he said.

“We were pretty surprised, it was a proper bottle. Some idiot had an idea but what can I say. Nobody knows who it was, I think.

“But when I look back, the people made sure I understood that it was not as bad as it looked. I thought it was a glass bottle but it was not. I saw it now because it's still at the 'crime scene'.

"No, no, it was a plastic bottle. In the moment it looked like a glass bottle, that would have been really dangerous but it was a plastic bottle."
