'He hasn’t trained for 10 days': Arteta explains why Saliba deserves extra credit for Brentford display
"He was superb," Mikel Arteta told Sky Sports about William Saliba after the Brentford win.
"He hasn’t trained for 10 days because he had some discomfort, but he comes in and competes like that.
"Not only the goal and his defending but he does the ugly part of the game that people won’t recognise. He deserves credit."
Saliba opened the score with a powerful header and was one of the best players on the pitch in the 3-0 win over Brentford.
The 21-year-old has immediately established himself as a regular starter at Arsenal in his first full season there after several years out on loan.
