'He can't look Chris in the eye': American pundit slams Tuchel for poor treatment of Pulisic
Christian Pulisic was linked with a move away from Chelsea this summer for more playing time as he isn't a starter under Thomas Tuchel.
Speaking about the saga, an American pundit Herculez Gomez slammed Tuchel for benching Pulisic and not letting him leave with a World Cup in sight.
"Chelsea weren't even willing to listen to offers for Pulisic, that's just insane to me" Gomez told ESPN.
"This is a player you spent over $70m in the transfer window to bring in. Over the last few years, Thomas Tuchel has proven that either he doesn't rate poor trust Christian Pulisic enough to play him.
"And when he does play, he's playing as a right-wingback - he's playing in a defensive role. Whatever you say about tactics and whatever, Tuchel can't look Christian in the eye and say 'I've given you an opportunity, 'I've given you a fair check'. That's never been the case.
"I can understand Pulisic wanting to leave. He's one of the most important players for his country. He's the face of US soccer. He feels he should ve playing.
"He feels he should be given the opportunity to play and stay fit, 80 days to the World Cup."
Do you agree that Tuchel hasn't been fair to Pulisic?
