'Embarrassing': Rio Ferdinand blasts Arsenal fan for claiming William Saliba is best centre-back

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand did not take lightly to some of the claims made by Arsenal fan Joel Beya on the Vibe with Five podcast.

Despite the 3-1 loss to the Red Devils, Beya claimed William Saliba is the best centre-back the Premier League has ever seen.

Rio clearly did not agree as he replied: "What are you chatting about?

"He’s finished with three goals in his net, I wouldn’t embarrass myself.

"I’m not saying he’s not a good player, but you can’t sit there after conceding three goals and start talking lavish about him, you just can’t.

"If we’ve conceded a goal or two in a game and we’ve lost the game, even if they’re not a direct fault of mine, we take it together."

While Saliba has been a revelation this term, he needs to prove himself more in the Premier League to be considered a great.

He's well on his way there though, having played in all of our games this season. The 21-year-old has also scored and assisted a goal apiece.
