Diogo Dalot wants new Man United contract amid 'interest from 5 clubs'
According to Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening News, a reliable source, Diogo Dalot is hopeful of signing a new contract with Manchester United before his current one expires in the summer of 2023.
He has started all eight games for Manchester United this season, effectively displacing Aaron Wan-Bissaka from the starting XI. Dalot also scored twice for Portugal in the international break.
The 23-year-old's stunning form has led to interest from Barcelona, Juventus, Atletico Madrid, AC Milan and AS Roma. However, Dalot is believed to be eager to continue under Erik ten Hag at United.
United do have the option to trigger a year's extension, which they reportedly hope to do before January.
Ans given his form, the club need to ensure he stays for the long term before other European clubs spark a potential bidding war.
