Bernd Leno on Arsenal exit: 'Only about politics, not about performances'
"When I realised that it wasn't about performance or quality, I knew that I had to go [away from Arsenal]," Bernd Leno told Sport Bild.
"In preparation, I saw that it is not about performance, but only about politics. It was clear to me: I had to get out of here."
Leno left Arsenal to join Fulham in a permanent deal after making 125 appearances across four seasons at the Emirates.
The arrival of Aaron Ramsdale pushed Leno out of Mikel Arteta's plans, prompting the German to leave for Fulham this summer.
