Why Erik ten Hag made Man Utd players run 13.8 kilometres during extra training session
Erik ten Hag imposed a unique punishment on his Manchester United squad after the appalling 4-0 defeat to Brentford.
The boss made every single player run a total of 13.8 kilometres during the extra training session planned for this Sunday.
Why, you ask? Because that's the difference in distance covered by Brentford during the Premier League clash.
The only stats that matter from #BREMUN:

One can see in the tweet above that Brentford covered a distance of 109.4 km. United only covered 95.6km and also fell behind by a huge margin in terms of sprints and pressing in the final third.
Clearly, these numbers show that United lacked the commitment and physicality to compete with Thomas Frank's well-drilled unit.
Ten Hag's decision to cancel the players' day off and make them train for an extra day seems like a great one.
